The manual is intended for completing a course project in the discipline “Machine Parts and Design Fundamentals.” The materials in the manual are useful when performing work in the courses “Applied Mechanics” and “Technical Mechanics” when designing machine parts.
The manual provides kinematic and power calculations of the drive, provides a methodology for selecting an electric motor based on power and shaft speed, outlines the methodology for design and testing calculations of cylindrical, planetary, bevel, worm and wave gears as part of open and closed (gearboxes) gears, both using computer technologies, and in calculations without searching for an optimal solution. The issues of lubrication of gears, calculation of a set of parameters for their control and rules for preparing working drawings of gear parts are considered.
