Description

The laboratory complex “Internet of Things in a Smart City” is a model of a city with sensors, devices and a controller. Designed to teach the principles of operation of IoT (Internet of Things) devices and systems using the example of implementing a “smart city” system.
This complex allows, with the help of sensors, “smart” devices and LED indication, the following actions:
• automate street lighting control,
• automate the reading of heating and water supply meters,
• monitor parking spaces,
• determine the parameters of temperature, air humidity and illumination in different areas,
• control and signal in emergency situations.

The hardware of the complex consists of a programmable controller and sensors and actuators connected to it, mounted on a model of the simulated space (city). The hardware can also connect to existing Internet of Things platforms (at the customer’s choice). The controller has the ability to connect to the virtual part of the complex, which is a virtual copy of the system under study with the ability to synchronize the virtual and physical parts of the complex in real time, implementing the “digital shadow” principle. A virtual copy of the system allows you to monitor sensor parameters and control the interactive layout.

The model is made from “hard” materials: plexiglass, wood, ABS and PVC plastics of various types. The model is painted with polymer paints that are resistant to abrasion and ultraviolet radiation, and lined with decorative panels according to agreed upon samples (samples are discussed at the design stage).

The laboratory complex includes:
• city layout,
• sensors integrated into the layout: light, temperature, humidity,
• analogs of “smart” devices integrated into the layout: street lighting, emulation of surveillance cameras, traffic lights, water supply lines,
• programmable controller with source training code,
• virtual laboratory complex “Internet of Things in a Smart City” — 1 license.
