Description

An immersive virtual painting simulator is designed to safely practice manual spray painting skills, teach the basics of painting and priming in conditions as close as possible to real ones, using three-dimensional blanks of a Lada Granta car, without the cost of painting materials.
The training system is equipped with a virtual reality helmet, which transfers the student to a virtual painting booth, where he works with a real car paint spray gun.
The virtual painting simulator has the following functions and characteristics:
1. Login to the system indicating the full name and group for subsequent analysis of the results of a particular Student’s work.
2. Before starting work, the Teacher or Student can choose:
 type of part (door left, door right, fender left, fender right, front bumper, rear bumper, trunk, hood)
— quantity and thickness of the soil layer
— quantity, thickness and color of the base layer
— quantity and thickness of the varnish layer
3. During work, the Student can change the following parameters:
— inlet pressure
— paint supply
— torch shape
4. Animated visual indicators when performing an exercise allow you to evaluate the distance and angle of movement.
5. Realistic torch physics
6. Visual display of smudges, shagreen, dullness, gloss
7. Free movement of the user in a helmet during an exercise around a virtual three-dimensional workpiece to access its complex surfaces, cavities and through holes.
8. Free view from the helmet, allowing you to move around your axis, bend over and squat.
9. The teacher has the ability to group reports by Students, Groups, and Assignments.
10. The report contains:
 a three-dimensional model of the part to be painted, with the ability to view from all sides, on which the total and layer-by-layer thickness of the coating of the part is shown using a color gradient (from blue to green, from green to red).
 Percentage of high-quality painted surface, unpainted surface, repainted surface
— spray gun trajectories
 graphs of the distance of the nozzle from the part, the angle of inclination from the normal, the speed of movement
 total and phased time spent on completing tasks

Composition of the simulator:
 Personal computer built into a floor-standing, mobile server rack;
 Dell monitor with a diagonal of at least 24 inches;
 Software;
 HTC Vive pro2 virtual reality helmet;
 Spray gun with an upper tank and a spatial tracking system;
 Passport;
 Operation manual;
Specifications:
Minimum working area, not less than 2000x2000x2000mm
Overall dimensions of the simulator when assembled, no more than 1000x1000x2000 mm
