Description
The virtual laboratory complex “Internet of Things on Railways” is intended for teaching, using a three-dimensional representation of a railway junction, sensors and devices, the principles of operation of IoT (Internet of Things) devices and systems using the example of the implementation of a “smart railway” system.
This complex has a built-in three-dimensional editor, which allows, using available tools, to create a 3D space of a virtual railway junction and place elements of the railway infrastructure, rolling stock and train position sensors in it.
Placed sensors and devices can be connected to external existing Internet of Things platforms for subsequent management of virtual “smart railway” systems. The user can work in several modes: top view, first person view or in virtual reality. Each hosted device has the ability to interact with the user.
The complex provides the ability to carry out the following laboratory work:
• automate the control of rolling stock, barriers, railway traffic lights and turnouts,
• determine the position of the train and cars, as well as the condition of railway facilities,
• control and signal in emergency situations.
